Orange Beach

I can't believe our two week baseball extravaganza is almost at its end!  We have had a great time so far, seen some really great baseball and spent time with amazing people!  The past couple of days have been full of Impact baseball.  I honestly think I have seen our boys play thier best baseball.  We are currently 2-1 in double elimination play with a game tonight at 5:45.  If we can win this game we will make it to the top 16 teams which play out the tournament on Friday.

Our boys had two great wins yesterday before losing pretty bad to a team from Mississippi.  I honestly think I was more proud of Eli last night than I ever have been.  He never gave up, he moved on every pitch, he hit the ball hard everytime.  Even when they were down 17-6 and this team was hitting bullets from the top of thier order to the bottom, he did not quit working hard.  Matt and I stress hard work when the kids are playing sports, our family motto is "Erikson's never quit" and I think Eli proved that he has been listening!

As for the rest of the family Cooper is learning to become a good spectator....not very well I might add and the girls have made new friends with the sisters on the team.  Lilah Jane has once again proven her charms and has managed to find someone to carry her around and take her to the playground for two straight days.  She is spoiled rotten as usual.  She, like her father is not a big fan of the beach.

In an attempt to avoid the beach Lilah hid her swimming suit top from me for a day and half.  When it came time to go to the pool however she suddenly remembered she put it behind the t.v.  I think I have my work cut out for me with her... (advice is welcome, please use the comment section)

Matt and I had a true test of our marriage yesterday.  We started the day calmly as we headed out to the ballpark.  About five minutes into the trip we realized we forgot our tickets to the game.  The tickets we paid $120 for.  Not only had we forgotten the tickets but Matt left them in his shorts which then I preceeded to wash.  The tickets were gone, disappeared into the abyss of the washing machine.  I am assuming the tickets are somewhere with all my missing socks pointing and laughing at us.  We spend the better part of our day looking for the tickets as if the washer hadn't eaten them up.  The gate lady was a stickler so we brought her all the lint from the dryer as well as the shorts... I think she felt bad for us cause she gave us a new pass.  Thank you Jesus.  Through this whole ordeal we managaed to stay calm for the most part until Matt decided to drown his sorrows in and ginormous bowl of coco krispies...

(here is the bowl with a coffee cup for scale)

After this whole incident our love was put to the test when I dropped Matt's iphone on the sidewalk and cracked it, very similiar to my own cracked iphone.  I think God knew that I needed some mercy so I used the ticket incident as a reminder that we both make mistakes.

Don't worry all is well.  We have made it to another day.

On a side note... I started reading the book "Circle Makers" by Mark Batterson and so far it is awesome.  I mean really good.  I highly recommend it!!

Be encouraged for today.  Today is a new day! Here are some random pictures for your viewing pleasure....
