We are the Champions....

Wow! This week has been pretty amazing! I wrote a few months back about always coming in second place and I have to say I am pretty excited that my children do not have to deal with those second rate feelings! Cooper's baseball team the FCA Sluggers came down to ESPN wide world of sports and struggled to win a game at the beginning of the week, but that all turned around when elimination play started Friday morning! They came out ready to play and play they did. They worked as a team and won 3 straight games to win the AAU National championship this morning. This experience was one that the families of the Sluggers will never forget.

The whole week has been a lot of fun especially when Grammy and Poppy showed up on Thursday morning!

The kids don't get to see their grandparents a whole lot but when they do they really enjoy their time together. I think they may have been a little annoying and loud cause Grammy and Poppy were in bed pretty early...

We spent lots of time in the pool and at the ball park.  I was extremely impressed with the tournament and the park.  It was overall a really great experience.  I think the best part was watching our boys play their absolute best to honor The Lord.  I know that before and after every game they are praying together and these boys are learning the value of teamwork and hard work and those lessons are invaluable.  I am so proud of our boys and so thankful for coaches who coach with class and choose to honor God in what they are doing.

Taking time for our family this week has been really fun, loud and messy.  Earlier this week I was trying to study some precepts and Cooper asked me to come and play Uno, how could I refuse.  He of course beat the stew out of me 3 games in a row.  Moments when I would normal put the kids off or spend time with my phone I intentionally chose to instead play with the kids.  I can tell that it meant a lot to them and I think they could tell it meant a lot to me.  Moments when I would normally be annoyed I chose instead to remain calm.  For instance when Lilah Jane dropped her ice cream and it splattered all over my legs at Downtown Disney I remained calm and wiped it off.  Instead of running hard and pushing myself like crazy I stopped by the condo to pick up Emery on my last mile to let her run with me.

I only hope that these lessons can help me to change all the time.  To take time to roll the ball with Lilah during a 4 hour rain delay instead of being annoyed and complaining about the rain.  We have to make the most of these moments, each and every one is creating a memory.  I know that this first week of our two week journey will be one we never forget.  I can't wait to see what is in store for tomorrow and I am looking forward to sharing it with you!

Orange Beach here we come!  Go Impact!!
